    @Fobettarh Everything I keep thinking of is like "oh no wait that's kind of a terrifying but amusing library tech story." I'll try to keep something longer in mind but a couple weeks ago I did manage to use a handheld radio to find a thing hidden in a park and beeping on the radio waves!

      @Fobettarh part of the fun is that as you get closer, the signal gets really strong and you have to get weaker and weaker antennas until you get closer. I decided to bring a paperclip and see what happens, so once I got close enough, I unscrewed the antenna and touched the paperclip to

        @Fobettarh the metal antenna connector spot! It turned out that it worked as a pretty darn weak receiver. So my signal went from 9, max, which I was getting everywhere, to 3, then 5, then 7, then 9 as I got closer!

          @Fobettarh I was super hyped that it worked since most of the time when I'm learning stuff, I mess up and have to ask for help from the older guys in the club. Which is ok, but to have an idea and be like "let's see what a paperclip can do?!" and have it work? Super fun!
