      1. After reading it (and queueing this up for a MUCH longer read bit.ly/3vukQ0V ) I can see the donors' POV because this isn't normalized. It's just assumed the library will catalog, house, staff, and provide a reading room for a huge collection w/no extra resources. t.co/lDIezMRHkn

      It should be normalized, it's a reason those of you not in libraries/archives see library/archive workers pushing so hard about the cost/labor/etc of this work. Everyone gets excited, issues a press release, then years later the donors AND the workers are unhappy.

    I think it's an absolutely reasonable request, at least that the donors figure out a way to wrangle together the money through connections. It's a responsible representation of the cost. But... yeah, woof. And like Chris said -- interim person agreed.
