      1. That nose sharing article (which I am not reading, thanks, I can figure it out from context and hope it takes on cost/access) reminds me... My mom used to share bathwater with her whole family. (no indoor hot water, no it wasn't into her teen years, yes her dad went last.)

      that's not the same as sticking the same thing up all your noses but sometimes when you feel you have to? You do it and you do your best. (I don't think it make scientific good sense and a LOT of other things but this seems like a "no running hot water" problem... )

    (this is something I recall from my own childhood, I would guess it was around 1947-50 in the rural Midwest...I can't check with her because she's dead and stuff)
