Quilting this was very slow, hard work. I did a rope-type pattern on the crab and shore bird borders--thicker on the birds. I did a wave on the water border. I haven't used stencils much before but they were great here.Permalink On twitter.com

I like to improvise, but this pattern was designed to be used with these fabrics and they're perfect. They're no longer in most stores so I tracked them down online from a half-dozen small quilt stores across the US and Canada and got the fabric set so it'd be perfect for her!Permalink On twitter.com
